SOPRANO
Teaching Philosophy
My purpose as a voice teacher is to guide students in developing not only strong vocal technique, but also a deep emotional and dramatic connection to the music they perform. I strive to recognize each student’s individual strengths, learning style, and artistic goals, and to tailor my instruction accordingly. This environment informs an inclusive, student-centered approach.
Teaching at the community college level allows me the privilege of working with students of diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of experience. This environment reinforces my belief that every student brings a unique perspective to the studio and deserves an individualized, supportive approach. I aim to create a space that is encouraging and safe, one in which students can overcome fear, build confidence, and learn to express themselves authentically through singing. I also emphasize essential musicianship skills, including diction and pronunciation, sight-reading, music history, style, and the use of IPA.
Ultimately, my goal is to empower students with the technical tools, critical thinking skills, and artistic confidence needed to succeed academically, perform meaningfully, and engage in lifelong learning.

TESTIMONIALS
"Nadia is an amazing teacher who really knows her stuff. She truly demonstrates why in-person classes are so much better than online; she is very bright and passionate about music, and that shows in her teaching. She is able to explain things in a way that doesn't make it feel like she is just spewing out information, and makes the classroom super engaging for any musical level. I like the little tricks she taught us for remembering things in music theory (Major/Minor scales & keys, chord combos, the inversion trick for finding intervals). They made things so much clearer for seeing what goes into making music. I also like that the midterm and finals aren't super drawn out 10 page long tests, they are brief, and yet they test you on all the things you learned, she definitely values our time".
